Locality
Per-user and panel-default timezone and locale.
Every timestamp in the panel uses the same timezone and locale settings, so dates read consistently across the whole UI.
How it's resolved
The locality for any timestamp comes from three layers, each falling back on its own:
- Your own override (Account → Locality) — if set, wins.
- The panel default (Settings → Locality) — set by an admin, applies to anyone without an override.
- The system floor — UTC / English (US), when nothing else is set.
So an admin can set a fleet-wide default of, say, Europe/Paris / French, while an operator in Tokyo
overrides just their timezone and keeps the default locale.
Setting your own
Account → Locality lets any signed-in user pick their timezone and locale, or choose "Use panel default" to clear the override. The change takes effect immediately — every timestamp on screen updates.
Setting the panel default
Settings → Locality (admin) sets the default for everyone without a personal override. It's stored encrypted and recorded in the audit log. A live preview shows the current time in your pending selection before you save.
